| We are already registered with the British Alpaca Society (BAS) and are learning at a phenominal rate about the various pleasures (and otherwise) of keeping Alpacas We purchased our first Alpaca - Christina in September 2006 and it has been an interesting experience to own animals and have others look after them for us. We finally found and were successful in buying our land in June 2007 in Devon, and while we were busy with fencing, and buildings etc. the Foot and Mouth crisis stopped us from moving our animals (now 18 in livery) onto our land. During this time in livery we had young cria die, and cria born. What a way to start our Alpaca business!
